Skrewdriver was a British rock band founded in 1976 by Ian Stuart Donaldson in Poulton-le-Fylde, Lancashire. The band originally played non-political punk rock and released their debut album All Skrewed Up in 1977.
However, starting in 1982, Skrewdriver became associated with far-right politics and white nationalist ideologies. They supported the White Power movement and were heavily involved in the Rock Against Communism scene. Their later albums, such as Hail the New Dawn (1984), Blood & Honour (1985), and White Rider (1987), promoted white nationalist themes.
The band and its frontman Ian Stuart played a key role in spreading nationalist music culture in the UK and internationally. Skrewdriver also helped launch the Blood & Honour network, which organizes nationalist music events and distributes propaganda.
After Ian Stuart’s death in a car crash in 1993, the band ceased to exist.
