The «CZ Bren 2» PVC patch
The CZ BREN 2 is a modern modular assault rifle developed by Česká zbrojovka (CZ) in the Czech Republic. It is an improved version of the earlier CZ 805 BREN, designed to be lighter, more ergonomic, and more adaptable for different combat roles.
The “Brandenburg 800” refers to the elite German special forces unit officially known as Lehr-Regiment Brandenburg z.b.V. 800. Established in 1939 under the Abwehr (German military intelligence), this unit specialized in covert operations, sabotage, and reconnaissance behind enemy lines during WWII.
The unit was conceived by Hauptmann Theodor von Hippel, who proposed the idea of small, highly trained units capable of operating behind enemy lines. Initially named Baulehr-Kompanie z.b.V. 800, it was later expanded and renamed to reflect its growing size and scope. The name “Brandenburg” was derived from the location of its first permanent quarters in Brandenburg an der Havel.
