David Lane was an American white nationalis, best known for coining the “14 Words” slogan: “We must secure the existence of our people and a future for white children.” He was a founding member of the white nationalist group The Order, which was active in the early 1980s. Lane was convicted for his involvement in the murder of leftist radio host Alan Berg in 1984, as well as multiple other actions including racketeering and conspiracy. He died in prison in 2007.
