The «Dominique Venner» T-shirt
Dominique Venner was a French historian, essayist, and former political activist, known for his far-right nationalist views and his work on European history, especially military and ideological topics. He was a strong advocate for traditional European identity, opposed to immigration and multiculturalism, and critical of modern liberal values.
Venner served in the French Army during the Algerian War and was involved in nationalist political movements in the 1960s. Later, he distanced himself from active politics and focused on writing and historical analysis. He authored many books on European history, firearms, and war, and was the editor of the historical journal La Nouvelle Revue d’Histoire.
He gained international attention in 2013 when he died by suicide inside Notre-Dame Cathedral in Paris. His act was a symbolic protest against the perceived decline of Western civilization, mass immigration, and the legalization of same-sex marriage in France.
