"Me ne frego" — which translates to "I don't care" or "I don't give a damn" — became a symbolic motto of Italian Fascism in the early 20th century. It was used by the Blackshirts, the paramilitary wing of Benito Mussolini's fascist movement. The phrase expressed contempt for fear, pain, and death, promoting an attitude of stoic bravery, sacrifice, and loyalty to the cause.
